Headed out late today. was supposed to be my first day back at work after surgery but when I got there they told me they didn't have anything for me. OK! Called the pops on the way home and told him to pack up the truck. Got into the bay around 10:45 water was around 63 deg. Thought to myself to find a warm spot. Headed out to a spot with about 25' that I haven't fished all season. Water temp showed 64.8. Came across three birds sitting in the water and knew my grandfather wanted me to stop there. He used to mark all his paintings and whatever else he built with three birds. Baited up and dropped the first line down. Before I could even get the sinker on the second pole, Fish on. Knew right away it was decent. Turned out to be a 28" 9 lb 8 oz Fatty Mc Flatty. Not 5 minutes later, pulled up another 20" keeper. Bounced around the rest of the day throwing back shorts, robbins and a dog. Picked up a nice cocktail blue for the neighbors. Great way to end the season.
