Sun 9/29 ....Outstanding Porgy fishing
« on: September 29, 2013, 07:50:30 PM »
Left dock around 6:30....east wind around 10 and a flat bay....turned the hook and it instantly became a washing machine. Ran south in 4ft tight swells with a 5 kicked in every now and then. Poked around on the outside of the reef and found them thick. One stop shopping today less we had to reset once after a nice 6 footer popped us off....and of course someone tried to slip right onto our spot  as we were resetting...but he missed the piece and we got back on it. Steady pick until we pulled the plug around noon. Sea Bassing stunk...only had 4 nice keepers and some throwbacks....over 200 porgies in the box only keeping the bigger ones and a nice 5lb throwback fluke. Had some Bonita chasing tinker mackeral around the boat out of reach but fun to watch!...no blackfish today.
Fishing was worth it today!
