Bay Bunker
« on: October 04, 2013, 05:19:52 PM »
Netted some peanuts in Matawan creek before heading out mid-morning .Searched for adult bunker schools and found them by Keansburg .Tried snag & drop .Nothing doing .Did see large splashes from some of the schools of bunker that were around .Tried drifting bunker in the bay ,in a couple of the usual spots ,but had nothing going on .80* days aren't cooling the water off ,to trigger a bite .

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

actually, the outside temp doesn't heat or cool the water.  The water temp is effected by tides and currents.

Just this past June, the outside temp was 75 but a warm current front came in and the bay temp reached 80.. In August during a heat was of 100 for 5 days straight, the bay temp was only 78.

The outside temp only changes non tidal waters, such as lakes, pools, etc..

if the current is coming from a warm southern front, the air temp has nothing to do with it.  Every notice the water temp can increase 10 degrees in just a couple of day, yet the air temp didn't change.  Ever realize why it is freezing outside in the teens, and the water didn't freeze?  Its not a pool or a lake.. Tidal waters temps increase and decrease by the tides.
