Back Country Bass Fishing
« on: November 02, 2013, 03:43:13 PM »
Well its that time of year the water in the Back Country starts to cool down and that starts to push bait from every little creek and marsh.

I have not had anything yet over 10 pounds...But the season just started to pick up....Plus I'm still not seeing the signs like in past years....Keeping it positive in my head.

The past couple years you have heard me talk about the Yellow Mambo Minow and yes its still my number 1 bait to throw.

This year I started using the floating Yellow SP Minow....The reason being I can stay clear of feeding Bass....The SP does cast better.....But you need to slow down on your retrieve or the plug runs to deep and bottoms out.

I also started using those weighted worm hooks for all my soft rubber baits....If put on the hook right it keeps the weed from getting on the hook and having the weight below the bait keeps it straight in the water, looking very natural.

Best color choice: Yellow,White,Purple/Black combo or Rootbeer.

Best wind : North East, East, South East anything but West or calm, If you have good surface movement from wind, the better your chances are of catching fish.

Shadows: Street ends and Docks they both will hold bait because of the light.

Bait Fish: spearing,Peanut Bunker,Snappers,Mullet and spots all running to the Inlets to head South for the winter...This is like a dinner bell for Bass.

Hope this helps some,

The areas I fish are the ones you said where a wast of time
