My late father in-law Charles Mazzarella, retired as Chief of Police in Atlantic Highlands in 2000. Upon his retirement, he volunteered as a Project Alert Agent for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children based in Alexandria, VA. Charlie was a tireless advocate for victimized children and worked in conjunction with the National Center, local police departments and the involved families to help recover missing children, solve long-term cases, and bring peace to the victims and their families.
