Jersey Joe and I pulled out of Keyport at 8:45am at dead low tide and a strong west wind. The water temp in the bay was 54 degrees but the driving wind made the ride a bit bumpy. We decided to stay local and make it back for the football games. The trolling spread went out and we covered the 20' deep area outside Keyport towards the 18 can in the reach plus a bit west and east.
The first Striper hit the umbrella rig with tubes. The second hit a mid sized Maja spoon. "Thanks Tony"
I figured the bite would pick up as the incoming tide sped up but they wouldn't chew. We marked tons of fish, maybe the wind against tide stumped us. We packed it in with 2 in the box for dinner. The Giants won and the Jets
Good luck everyone.
