Reel McCoy II Saturday 11/30/13 Report

Left the slip about 7am and headed out to the blackfish grounds with my son and friend Kevin.  Almost called it an early day when I got into Sandy Hook channel and turned into the strong easterly breeze and rough seas.  I decided it was better to keep going than to turn around in that slop.  Took a slow ride SE to join the fleet.  Got set up and the bites started right away.  Kevin puts a nice 17" fish in the box right away followed by Dan with his twin. The boys picked away with mostly shorts while I couldn't hook anything for about 2 hours.  We ended the day with Kevin high hook with 3 keepers and 9 shorts, Dan with 1 keeper and 11 shorts and yours truly with only 6 shorts.  The ride home was much nicer the way out.
Probably the last trip on my boat this season  :'(
