New Years Eve Blackfish 2013
« on: January 01, 2014, 11:17:20 AM »
Went toggin' with Capt Chad yesterday.  NJSWF was well represented with Twins & Fins and Tuna Tales aboard.  Despite the cold temps, the morning started off pretty nice, sunny with little to no breeze and calm seas.  It took about 15 minutes for the bite to get started and we began to pick away.  My first 3 fish were shorts and then I had nice streak of mostly keepers getting my limit plus 2 by 11:30.  Tuna Tales had the hot hand catching at least 10 keepers (I lost count).  Twins & Fins struggled a bit (new rod jinks) but did throw some in the basket.  He did manage to land a double-header on a slider rig, one kept and the other just short.  The bite died about noon, we made a few moves but it was slow going.  The wind came up about 2pm and we heading in.
My totals were 8 keepers, 10 shorts, 1 pout and 1 bergal.  I had a great day fishing with a great group of fisherman  t^

Was a great day despite my lack of inserting the hook into the jaw. Lol. Tuna Tales definitely had the hot hand, hats off on a job well done by both of you. Another beautiful day on the water today down South. Action was slow but hey it's Jan. Looking forward to fishing and sharing stories this year!

Happy New Year,

Very nice fishing with Reel and Twins...

Great day overal for late December...good fishing until around noon then the bite died.

The weather was nice and the dolphins gave us show!  I made Blackfish Chowder for dinner last night and everyone loved it.

Happy New Year!       pcrn

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
