I hope you like unsettled, Winter weather because this weekend will not be any different than the last several weeks. Another weaker coastal low pressure system will move along the coast with an associated cold front moving through bringing snow during the overnight and morning hours before changing to a mix or rain for most parts of Central and Southern NJ. Snow accumulations will be in the 1-3 inch range. Winds will also continue to be gusty with the system and passing front. Precipitation and clouds will clear out for the overnight, leaving very cold air in its place. Sunday will be clear with more sun than clouds, but highs will not likely reach the freezing mark. Temperatures will be in the 20’s and 30’s with lows in the single digits to 20’s with colder temperatures from south to north. Water conditions look to be poor with Cautious to Hazardous conditions due to gusty winds and building seas. Small Craft Advisories will eventually replace the current Gale Warnings for the weekend. BW Forecasts are on the lower side of the guidance, so if needed check both NOAA and BW. Surf and beach conditions will be ok to cautious. Tides are still running a little higher, not flooding higher, but higher on the beach. Beach erosion was likely the last few days, so be careful for any changes in the beach contours. Surf conditions will not be as rough or high, as winds will be from the northwest, primarily. However winds will gust 20-30 knots! UV Index will be Low on Saturday and Low to Moderate on Sunday.

A cold front will move through the area tonight behind the coastal low pressure system that is lifting to the northeast. A surface low associated with the cold front will bring chances of snow to the region Friday Night into Saturday. This is a much weaker coastal low, than came through Wednesday and Thursday. High pressure will then build into the region on Sunday and Monday. The active weather pattern continues next week as another low is expected to cross the region on Tuesday!

The look ahead shows the potential of a system with snow on Monday Night into Tuesday, with clear conditions the remainder of the week. Temperatures will also begin to moderate by Monday, as the frigid air will retreat back to the north. Highs will range from the 30’s to the 50’s with lows in the 20’s and 30’s. Inshore water, surf and beach conditions look mainly good, but offshore will be iffy through Wednesday or Thursday.

Have a great weekend!
