A wet week in the forecast with a poor start and end for water conditions. Rain showers will continue through Monday Night before clearing out. Monday Night through Tuesday Night look mostly clear, however northern areas could see some rain showers Tuesday Night. Wednesday will see a return of showers clearing out for Wednesday Night before returning for Thursday and Friday. Despite all of the rain in the forecast, it looks like less than 1.5 inches of rain for the entire week. This will equate to mostly scattered showers with some occasional widespread rain this week. Clouds will be mixed with sun and the week won’t be an entire wash out! Temperatures will be seasonable to even above average. It will be warm for us, so used to subfreezing temperatures since Fall. Highs will be in the 50’s and 60’s most of the week, with some 40’s and lows will be in the 30’s and 40’s, even some overnight 50’s. Flooding could be an issue as well, but hopefully showers will not be heavy enough to trigger any major events, unlike this weekend. A couple of days should allow rivers to return to normal and the ground to dry out some. Water conditions will be Hazardous to Cautious on Monday, clearing for Tuesday through Thursday, returning to Cautious for some areas on Friday and then Hazardous to Cautious on Saturday. Gale Warnings are likely to stay in place for areas on Monday. Surf and beach conditions will echo water conditions, with Cautious conditions on Monday with gusty winds, rough surf and wave heights 2-5 feet. Tuesday through the end of the week should see improving conditions before deteriorating Friday Night into Saturday. Monday could also see some minor coastal flooding and above normal tides. Water temperatures are in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s for all areas, with temperatures slowly warming the last few days. This week’s warmer temperatures could see bigger increases in temperatures in rivers, bays and even surf waters. UV Index will be Low to High with 2-6/15 likely this week.

A low pressure system east of NJ will slowly drift offshore Sunday Night. A high pressure system will then build in for Monday Night and Tuesday. Another low pressure system will track through the Great Lakes and Eastern Canada with its associated cold front passing across the area early Wednesday. The front is then forecast to stall just south of the area the rest of the week. Another low pressure system emerging from the Rockies should then move through the Great Lakes on Saturday with its cold front passing through the region later in the day. A high pressure system should then start building east on Sunday!

The weekend will start with chances of showers on Saturday clearing for Saturday Night and Sunday. Temperatures will be in the 50’s with 30’s and 40’s overnight. Water, surf and beach conditions look Cautious to Hazardous on Saturday improving for Sunday.

Have a great week and thanks for reading! Looking forward to the njswf7b this weekend!!
