Quick run down before the complete Outlook is complete!
Monday looks to be mostly dry, slight chance of showers during the day. The bulk of the rain will not move in until Monday Night and stick around through Tuesday Night. Highs on Monday will be in the 60's and 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. Temps will drop back into the 60's then 50's as the week progresses. These are looking like Summer Temps, not Spring. Water, surf and beach conditions will be Cautious to Hazardous with gusty winds and Small Craft Advisories! These conditions look to persist through most of the week, possibly clearing for Friday.
Hope everyone enjoys the nice weather and temps, although today's Marine Forecast was a bust! The front stalled much farther north than forecast bringing some 20+ knot winds and Small Craft Advisories all weekend!
Thanks for reading...more to follow!
Matt
Quite the week we have started already. Some Spring/Summer-like weather, mixed with some rain and the grips of Winter not wanting to let go with a solid blowout on the water through the end of the week! This week is definitely an ugly Spring Weather pattern with Summer-like temperatures today only to usher in rain during the overnight and into Tuesday. Northern areas could even see some snow showers/flurries on Tuesday Night. Precipitation will clear out by Wednesday and looks to remain dry through Friday before chances move back in for Friday Night and the start of the weekend. High temperatures will drop from the 60’s and 70’s on Monday into the 40’s to 60’s for the remainder of the week, with overnight lows dipping down into the 30’s and subfreezing zone for some areas. Gusty winds will continue inland and on the water through Thursday, maybe even Friday. Patchy fog and areas of frost are possible as well through the end of the week. Water conditions are poor with Cautious to Hazardous Conditions through at least Thursday. There could be some breaks on Wednesday and early Thursday, but seas may not have recovered by then. Gale Force winds are likely across all waters with seas to 10 feet. Small Craft Advisories are obviously in effect as well. Gale Warnings are likely Monday Night into Tuesday. High Pressure to the northeast is responsible for both warmer than normal temperatures and the gusty winds! Surf and beach conditions will be OK to Cautious, even Hazardous on Tuesday and Wednesday. Surf will be rough with wave heights to 6-7 feet. Water temperatures are still in the mid to upper 40’s with some 50’s and even 60’s in shallower bay and river waters. UV Index will be High, all but one day around 4-6/15.
High pressure located over the Western North Atlantic will continue to influence the weather for Monday. A strong cold front will approach from the west and it will pass through the region late Tuesday Afternoon into early Tuesday Evening. High pressure will then build across the Northeastern States on Wednesday and over Atlantic Canada and the adjacent waters for Thursday and Friday. A frontal boundary approaching from the west is expected to pass through the region on Saturday Night.
The weekend looks will start off with chances of rain on Friday Night through Saturday Night. Things look to clear out for Sunday. Temperatures will be in the 50’s and 60’s with lows in the 40’s. Water, surf and beach conditions look to improve into the weekend right now…it will all depend on how well they recover from this week and where the next high anchors.
**Anyone venturing over to the island/beach from IBSP north to the Manasquan Inlet, a reminder that there is heavy construction on 35 North and South and the only way in and out of the island is via Seaside Heights! The traffic has been a nightmare on the weekends and it took me an hour to get home yesterday! I ended up going north into Brick and over the Mantoloking Bridge through Brick because the Tunney Bridge was gridlock. Also, 35 North has a lot of areas where the road just stops without much warning and above ground water pipes suddenly right in front of you. This is necessary repairs to the infrastructure there, but it makes for difficult traveling over there.
Have a great week and thanks for reading!
