Well the back bay has started showing some good life this week with Bass and weakfish.
The water is still cold but these fish are really slamming those plugs and small rubber baits hard even with the cold water.
I would say just about all the areas of the back bay are going to be hot by this weekend with the temps going into the high 60's.
The bass are up in the shallow water 2-4 feet and most of the weakfish are running the deeper cuts of 6-8 feet.
I have done well with the yellow mambo minnow with short Bass in the last couple days..... Small rubber baits in white, yellow and hot pink are also working on the Bass and weakfish.
The bait that are in the bay are adult spearing and small herring.....The bunker are sure to start entering the bays and rivers to spawn in the next week or so.
With these large bait fish on the spawn....Bigger Bass and weakfish will be right there waiting for an easy meal.
Our next full moon should start the red worm hatch in the bay....This will drive the fish crazy in the back bay.
I will keep you all up to date........
