Blackfishing on the Big Mohawk 1/16
« on: January 16, 2008, 07:18:34 PM »
The weather looked OK today, so I went to the Big Mohawk for one last shot at togs.

15 guys showed up to what was a nice, but breezy day on the water. This group of regulars, has to be the most dedicated Blackfishermen I've seen.

Most had their own "stash" of white leg crabs, which seemed to be the key to the bigger fish today.

Pool fish was 11.9, and the next largest were 9.1 and 10.3.....all on "white leggers"

Good group to fish with. Didn't get the final count, but there was a good compliment of keepers.

I had two keepers, one which went about 5 lbs, caught on green crabs.

Captain and crew know what they are doing.  Nice to get out before winter really sets in.  t^ t^

Hey, almost time for March flounder.
