Hunter 2 - Raritan Bay 4-27-14
« on: April 28, 2014, 06:26:05 AM »
As we pulled out 12pm the wind was blowing 15mph with gusts 25-30mph.  Cashin,Jersey Joe and Carl made up the crew. The water was dirty brown from the rain and all reports from the morning were slim pickings today. We head N.East and the waves were better on this side. Slack tide was approaching so out goes the trolling gear. The right Stretch 25 goes down and soon after Cashin reels in a nice 36" Striper with a huge lump in its belly we assumed was Bunker.  3 line spread goes out again and then 2 rods hit a snag thd. We tried for ten minutes to free the brand new 9ers Rig and stretch 25 but they were stuck too good in whatever debri Sandy left behind.
Anchored up on the incoming and landed a second keeper and several shorts.  We pulled the plug at 5:30 and head home.
Upon cleaning the fat 36" Chris pulls a big Rock out of its Stomach the size of his fist.   cfzd.   They are called Rockfish right?? t

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
