Sad News on the Manasquan River 18Apr07
« on: April 18, 2007, 07:56:28 PM »
If you guys have not heard by now,
A tug & barge sunk in the Manasquan River today around 1530. I spoke with Lt. Clark (USCGA) and Lt. said that 2 people entered the water. One person was rescued and one person remains in the water. The search and rescue mission was secured and a recovery mission commenced. The person who was rescued was transported to a local hospital (Brick Hosp, but not 100% sure)

The tug and bardge were demolishing the old Rt 70 bridge. How the vessels sunk, I can not tell you honestly.

My prayers go out to all the families effected by todays tragedy.

If I learn more, I will update the post.

Capt. Anthony
