I don't typically do well in cloudy weather in my spots for fluking, especially not in NE winds..... Well, this morning I worked hard and was rewarded. Tried about every gulp combination I could think of and had nothing, finally settled on a white 5'cm swimming mullet as my teaser, with a chartreuse 6'cm grub on my jighead and caught a short on my first cast. I didn't try white yet as for whatever reason white doesn't do well in my spots, but it worked today. A few casts later I caught a keeper, somewhere between 18.5 and 19. Lost another short, and then slack tide hit and the winds picked up so I left. Was by no means good fishing at all but it's always awesome to get a keeper from the surf. Probably gonna give a try for the last hours of high tide later at a different spot and I'll report again later.
