The weather will be mixed this weekend, but water conditions look good! Saturday will continue with chances of scattered showers, maybe even a thunderstorm with possibilities of more widely scattered showers; certainly not a washout by any means, though. Chances are greatest to the south and decrease to the north. Northern NJ may not experience any showers at all. Saturday will be a mix of sun and clouds with more clouds than sun most likely. Sunday looks to clear out with a mix of sun and clouds, still, but more sun than clouds and dry conditions. Temperatures will continue in the mid 70’s to lower 80’s. Overnight lows will be in the 60’s with 50’s across northern areas. Humidity will be moderate. Water conditions are good for all locations both days. Winds should be mostly calm to moderate max around 10 knots with some gusts to 15 knots. Seas will remain around 2 feet. No headlines are anticipated. Surf and beach conditions are good as well, with normal conditions and low risks of rip currents. Water temperatures for rivers and bays are in the mid to upper 70’s in places. Surf temperatures are in the upper 60’s to low 70’s. Inshore ocean waters are in the low to mid 60’s across the north and upper 60’s to low 70’s across southern waters. Midshore to offshore is in the mid to upper 60’s. UV Index will be Moderate to High on Saturday and Very High on Sunday.
High pressure will build in Thursday Night and Friday behind a cold front dropping to the south. A Low pressure system will move along the frontal boundary to the south on Saturday with another area of high pressure moving in on Sunday and Monday.
Next week will start off dry and then by Tuesday chances of showers and/or thunderstorms will return through Friday. Temperatures will continue in the 70’s and 80’s with lows in the 50’s and 60’s. Water, surf and beach conditions look good right now. Winds could increase towards the beginning to middle of the week as a tightening pressure gradient situates itself over the region.
The tropics are quiet.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
