Shark trip -Hallie Loren 7-6-14
« on: July 07, 2014, 05:54:25 AM »
Pulled out of Keyport in the AM with Kenny, Paule pawle, Cashin,Jersey Joe and John.  While snagging Bunker for the Kite rod in shallow water by the ramp something very big was chasing the Bunker too. We never saw it but two times it made waves in the bay like a small boat wake and churned up the muddy bottom.    We probably should of set up for sharking right there.
As soon as we arrived in the deeper water by the mudhole the surface temp went up to 73.6 from 71 and the water turned nice and  blue.
We had a hammerhead shark swimming in the slick checking out the chum buckets.  The drift started picking up as the afternoon wind increased.  We called lines up at 3:30pm and trolled an assortment of offshore lures for a few miles while heading in with no takers. We made the run back to the marina ant had a fun time Docking in the strong wind and current.  t^

t^, I was down by the sailboats yesterday and saw a big swirl also.
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

If that's the bait hanging underneath the kite...me thinks it's a bit too high.  ;D
