Keeping killies alive

I have read somewhere you can keep killies alive by putting them on ice in a cooler. I want to be able to keep them overnight since bait shops tend to open later than I like.

For over night, or even a week or longer killies will and do survive in fresh water. I've kept them in an old fish tank with an air pump for 2 weeks in fresh water out of the house at the house.

wrap them in wet newspaper and put them in the fridge, if the fridge is a no go then wet newspaper on ice in a cooler

the cardboard bottoms of old cases of beer lined in tin foil and wet newspaper was the best
