was thinking about fishing shark river on a rent a boat at fishermans den just wondering if any one has had any luck in the area

Well, it definitely had some pressure Saturday with the Jcaa tourney during another nor'easter and several boats,and larger vessels even fishing it, but they are there, waters been clear and bait is there, time around high has been best, snappers are in and if ya get some smaller ones to use live they will help cull the shorts out, but killies on a wonder rig type can work as well, key thing to remember is that there has been a lot of weed in there and you want your leader above whatever weight you have to keep it cleen for a bit- gas docks, north channel by the red side and down main from 71 to ocean ave- good luck- snappers on small #8 sabiki with a small silver jig on bottom to attract them like 005 or small cast master or deadly dick: I take the hook off so it doesn't tangle as much when your bouncing it up and down
