Sandy Hook 10/30 a.m. report
« on: October 30, 2007, 03:18:08 PM »
Todays trip off the point was less than eventful. Set out of Leonardo about 8. Hit birds/blues towards the pier right away but I had my mind on rockfish. Trolled all kinds of shad and eel umbrellas with nary a striper in sight. A couple dozen boats around...trolling...jigging...live lining eels and bunker - you name it. Didn't see one bent rod. Was excited after yesterdays report but such are the nature of schoolies. Set back to the dock at dead high tide as I had to get my son back in. Exchanged the baton with Young Gull so hopefully things turned around on the outgoing tide! I'll be back at it Thursday and Friday afternoon...

Did you not turn the hook and only stay in the bay?
