I headed east as soon as I got out of work yesterday in search of some bass. Went out of my comfort zone and fished a stretch of beach I've never been to. Birds working adult and peanut bunker before I arrived. Fished for about three hours with a light to moderate NE wind and a little chop in the water.
Everyone on the beach had fish. Sporadic at times and blitz fishing at times. The fish were pushing the bunker right onto the sand. Always an awesome sight to witness.
I ended up with 2 bass to 15lbs and 3 blues to 12lbs. All fish were released safely. Fish were biting anything from Hopkins to poppers.
High point of the day was landing a few of the fish on one of my swimmers.
Tomorrow is the NJBBA President's Cup touney. Hoping the storm doesn't send the fish away so get some fish for the touney.
Stopped and looked at all the usual hot spots on my way home. Saw the Irish Ayes working a bunker pod close to the beach.
