Hi All,
After Grand Jury I took a ride from the Manasquan Inlet down to the North Pocket of Island Beach State Park.
At 2:00PM through the afternoon, the wind was blowing pretty good from the SE. There were 1-2 ft. waves chopped up with white caps. It was very fishable but very few people fishing.
There was little or no bird activity to speak of. It looked pretty dead. When I drove on the beach, I did not see any signs of recent blitzes (no bait on the beach; no scales in the water; and no smooth oil patches in the water).
So, to me:
1. Beautiful day on the beach for a walk ...
2. Never took the pole out of the holder.
3. Talked to a few people wondering when the water temp was going to drop
4. Could it be a more beautiful end to a nice October (weather wise).
BTW, all my buddies who are fishing the beaches are using clams to score in the Lavallette/Seaside Park areas. Not a lot of action but some keepers here and there. This is looking a lot like last year (can you say Striper blitzes at Christmas).
Is anyone monitoring what is happening up North (Montauk, et. al)?
