My son's trip to Houston
« on: November 21, 2014, 06:34:33 AM »
My son left from here this morning at 6AM with his motor home, trailer and dog Bullet headed for Houston Texas. We said our see ya later and wishes for a safe trip. It's a long way to go driving by his self, the guy that was supposed to go with him had to back out because of his younger brothers have a serious health issue. SO I hope everything goes well.

Thanks guys. I just spoke to him a little while ago and he is doing good He said he was in Roanoke VA, so he is doing okay with the load he is pulling in five hours, he had to reroute around the tunnel so that took a little off the trip. So far so good. I told him to keep me informed..hey hes only 41yrs old. hhppy

Well spoke to my son again a hour ago and he said he had taken a 3hr rest and ate, he is now in Tennessee.I'm hoping he calls it a day and pulls up for the night and gives it a fresh start in the morning.

Here is one for ya. Anthony had a blowout on the trailer...no damage but he wanted to get another spare while he was in Tennessee ended up finding a tractor supply in Alabama who had a tire for the trailer. Price $168.00 cfzd for the same exact tire that he bought here at pep boys for $119.00 nosmly He said to the counter person " are you sure that's not a mistake" She say No that is the right price. He just smiled at her and said well I guess things are cheaper in NJ I payed $119.00 for the same tire yesterday. So much for things being cheaper in the south. ;D

Yes it do,and he said to me. I should have followed my gut and bought two tires at Pep-Boys. I told him never look back at your mistakes just don't make them again ;D

Last we spoke last night he was 5hr from Houston. Said he was going to pullup and rest to get a fresh start in the AM.

Considering the time lost to tire repair and repurchasing another one,he has done pretty well. The main thing is that the trip is a safe one.

He arrived in Houston TX at 12:39AM today all went well and Dec. 1 he starts his new job there and will be living there with wife and children.

It's been one heck of a move in such a short time. His wife started a new job there a month ago and they have been flying back and forth getting things in order for selling the house,Job interviews for my son, buying there home in Texas, getting the children transferred from school here to Texas. And finally Anthony driving the motor home there. FEEEW!! I'm glad that went well as can be expected.

Thank you. It was a big decision for them to make, relocating so far,the children start there new day in school Monday and we are hoping they are able to make new friends soon. For both my son and Daughter-in-law it's been a good move so far, better jobs better positions. My son is an avid sportsman and making the move was exciting to him, both him and his wife hunt and fish. They are trying to get us to make the move in there direction...don't know if I would like it there but it's close to the Golf and I understand it's great fishing.
