Bob S and I took his 25.6 seafox W/A out of Keyport And trolled spoons in the Ambrose area by the Verrazano for awhile with no takers. I got a call with some intel so we made a quick move 45mph east off Breezy point and trolled again. Apparently we missed the slow bite here too. Saw a nice sailing ship pulling in. The BAE Guayas from Ecuador. Also a cool fireboat from FDNY all pumps running at full capacity over by Staten Island.
We switched over to Fluking in the bay for a few minutes and caught a 17.5" and had a cocktail blue on teaser that bit through the dropper loop.
We were out 8am to 1pm. Beautiful day on the water. Looks like sea bassing would have been a better choice.
