MAKO MANIA- MAKO FEVER this weekend
« on: June 23, 2015, 12:27:02 PM »
Looks like the East wind is gonna postpone the tournies or keep many of us in port.  Too bad,  we started prepping everything already.

I doubt they'll postpone it. But well see
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!

Not looking good at all for the weekend, we were scheduled for Saturday entry. Why did they move it from the usual week(last weekend) that they normally hold it??  To top if off, my "fun" annual shark trip for Thursday was cancelled as well due to boat issues...... >:( nosmly fcp thd......Not a good week for me for fishing!!!!

caught this on another source:

Dear Mako Mania Tournament Anglers,

The Tournament Committee is well aware of the weather predictions for this weekend but as you know, the Weatherman isn't always right. That being said, our committee met last night to thoroughly discuss our event. Below is a summary from that meeting:
The GPPCBA will make a final decision and announcement on Friday night, during the Captain's Meeting, June 26 at 6:00pm, as to the running of Mako Mania on June 27 and 28, as scheduled, or postponing the tournament until July 11 and 12 due to this weekends weather conditions. July 5 and 6 was considered as a possible postponement date but rejected due to the holiday and family commitments.
The June 26 Captains meeting will go on as planned with free hero sandwiches from Joe Leone's, Bud Beer from Ritchie & Page, Mako Mania commemorative tournament tee shirt sales, rod raffles, 50-50 drawing and great door prizes for those who sign up for fishing the Mako Mania Tournament.
Fellow Anglers,
If this forecast doesn't dramatically change more than likely the tournament will be postponed to July 11 &12 with time to sign up on July 10th. It would be greatly appreciated though if you still show up for this friday nights captain's meeting to get the official announcement. We will still have free food, beer, rod raffles, 50-50 and Tee-Shirt sales.
