Very unsettled weekend weather with even worse water conditions. This weekend will be wet with widely scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms on Saturday and into Sunday. Sunday will have less clouds and even, maybe some sun here and there eventually clearing out by Sunday Night. The area could see upwards of 2-3 inches of rain and even more locally. Some minor and localized flooding could occur as well as flash flooding from any heavy rains. Highs will be in the 60’s to 70’s on Saturday and then 70’s to 80’s on Sunday. Overnight lows will range from 50’s to 70’s. Humidity will be moderate to high. Water conditions will be a blowout this weekend. Cautious to hazardous conditions on the ocean waters with winds to gale force at times and seas to 8 feet inshore and 11 feet midshore to offshore. Small Craft Advisories will be in effect the entire weekend and gale warnings are possible as well. There will be some very small pockets of calmer winds and seas, however risking getting caught in the upswing could pose a risk. Winds will be out of the east on Saturday and then west to southwest on Sunday. Winds will be greater on Saturday Afternoon and Saturday Night diminishing some for Sunday, however seas will build into Sunday. Surf and beach conditions will be cautious. Surf will be rough and up to 7+ feet with a High Risk of Rip Currents. Surf conditions could be better on Sunday, but will still require cautiousness around the water. Water temperatures are a few degrees warmer in the 60’s to 80’s. UV Index will be Low to High at 2-8/15.

A frontal boundary to the south will lift north toward the area on Thursday Night as a wave of low pressure tracks along it. High pressure then briefly builds to the north for Friday as the front settles back southward. Another low pressure system is forecast to track along the front this weekend. Weak high pressure then builds into the region for Monday, followed by more unsettled weather as a cold front arrives late Tuesday into Wednesday.

Next week will continue with some unsettled weather through midweek, so rain/shower/thunderstorm chances are possible. Greatest chances look to be Tuesday and Tuesday Night and should clear for the end of the week. Highs will start off in the 70’s and lower 80’s, then climb into the mid to upper 80’s by Wednesday. Overnight lows will be in the 60’s and 70’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be mixed most of the week with Tuesday looking to be cautious and some borderline to cautious days in there as well, possibly Monday and then Thursday. Midshore to offshore conditions will be more borderline to cautious most of the week settling later in the week.

The tropics are quiet.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
