Yep, saw ya wavin.  I think I switched the radio over to channel 21 to monitor the CG with the rescue operation they had going up north.  Didn't really hear much about it but a bunch of don't need any more assistance.  Sorry about that.   TT^

Ha, I was listening to that too.  There was another call from Little Egg that came over the radio eventually, too.  That one ended the same way.  I was out about a mile from Manasquan.  The fleet yesterday was absolutely nuts.  Reminded me of the scene in JAWS when everyone was out hunting for the shark.  I was waiting for a kid with a fin to come up from the water at any moment.

The good thing about yesterday was that I was able to hone my very rudimentary striper fishing skills.  Unfortunately, I didn't have AVAs, but I tried working my Storm shads the best I could, even though they weren't what was catching fish.  (I really intended on only going out for a ride, but then I decided to fish and took the boat out the inlet for the first time.)  Did manage to hook up with a couple blues.  I'm planning to buy some appropriate ocean tackle this week so hopefully the weather will cooperate Thurs/Fri when I'm off and the birds will still be there.

By the way, it was AWESOME breaking the inlet for the first time by myself in my own boat.  My Dad was going to come, but he had something come up at the last minute.  So, I just decided to go for it.  Just feeling the boat get into open ocean and crash through the waves made me have A LOT of instant confidence in my new boat.  It wasn't the calmest day ever, but the May-Craft handled it beautifully.  It was an incredible feeling to do it for the first time.

Good going Dan.   t^  It is a nice feeling knowing that you have a sturdy boat under you.

I was away from the nutzos out there.  I finished the day (1PM) about a mile north of Manasquan Inlet.  I don't like fishing in the crowd, too many yahoos running thru the fish.
Once the other boats get there, I leave.

Good luck Thursday and Friday.   t^
