After market handle for my Pflueger # 1988
« on: November 30, 2014, 12:22:09 PM »
Recently I did an alteration on the reel handle on my older Pflueger Reel Her are some before pictures and after. Wrong picture is first Ill correct that. Okay as you can see the first picture is the reel taken down,it took a belt wrench to turn the face so I could remove the spool. As you can see the second picture shows the new handle and the extra power it will give in cranking over the last picture showing the old handle.

Nice job on the handle. Did you make the new handle or was it purchased or adapted from another reel. Thanks.

No I didn't make the handle or crank arm,I purchased them from Alan Tani and then fitted it to my reel. That gives me a lot of cranking power, not that I need it but it's there if I do.

Not only that; some great help with older reels like schematics and help with fixing them. I have Al to thank for telling me about the site.

Should it be Al,BigAl,or LittleAl. Himmm 5hrug
