Barnegate Light 7/17

My 15 yr old son Jay caught his first door mat today off the South Jetty at Barnegate Light.... 6lbs 6oz   27"  we also had a few shorts to 17 1/2"

Killie/squid was the bait of choice today





Also did a non sponser charter this week out of BI  (7/14) casted for some cocktails to warm up then started the drift......2 keeps to 20"    Had a dozen +  17  17 1/2 and 17 3/4 fish    Also a bunch of keychain models..... Capt busted his backside getting us on the fish, great guy I've fished with now for 3 yrs.....told him about the site, he may pop his head in here and take a look

Thanks guys.....

The guy we went out with earlier this week was Capt Brett Taylor, Reel Reaction Sportfishing. Great guy...great with the kids ( had my son, daughter and my sons friend out) love his boat, those Parkers are just flat out awesome.

Sure did weigh it in at SCBT......  Love those folks, and Sue is tops  t^

Funny you should ask.....we had caught a bunch of shorts and skates...and every time I'd release them I'd climb over the rail to get them in the water. No small feat for a 44yrold with a few ( ok quite a few) extra pounds and a leg that has more hardware in it than your local Home Depot.  I'm quite certain I looked like a thinner Peter Griffin trying to walk a dental floss tight rope.

Well when my boy got this up near the rocks, and I saw the size.....lets just say if the U.S. Olympic hurdles team, or the Flying Walendas were there, I'm fairly certain I would have gotten some job offers  TT^
