Another unsettled weekend with rain or snow and mostly cautious water conditions. Rain will carry over from Friday Night into Saturday. Rain could be heavy at times and some northern and western areas could see snow or a wintry mix. Accumulations look to be no more than an inch or two. Rain will clear for Saturday Night, with some lingering showers for Saturday Evening. By Sunday Morning, showers will return and again, some rain and snow showers. These showers will be more scattered and should end for later Sunday and Sunday Night. Highs will be in the 30’s and 40’s with overnight lows in the teens to 30’s. Water conditions look to be mostly cautious with some good conditions and hazardous conditions as well. Inshore ocean waters will be cautious, mainly from gusty westerly winds to 35 knots and seas to 7 feet. Midshore to offshore waters will have seas to 15 feet again. Rivers and bays will see gusty winds, but conditions could be good during periods of time during the day. Surf and beach conditions will be ok to cautious. Winds will be the biggest issue gusting to 35 knots, however mainly out of the west. Wave heights will be 2-5 feet. Water temperatures are steady in the 40’s and 50’s. UV Index will be Low at 1-2/15.
High pressure builds in for Thursday Night and Friday. Low pressure will then develop off of the Southeast Coast on Friday and move across the offshore waters on Friday Night and Saturday. A cold front will cross the area on Sunday, followed by high pressure which will build in for Monday and persist into the middle of the week.
So far the week looks dry and cold. Highs will only be in the 20’s and 30’s with lows in the teens to 30’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be mainly cautious to hazardous.
The large mid-latitude cyclone was extratopical, then subtropical, and is now a tropical hurricane likely transitioning to an extratropical system again. It poses no threat to land right now. It is the earliest forming hurricane since 1938.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
