Trolling Rod Recommendations
« on: April 20, 2016, 06:00:13 PM »
I want to get a couple new rods for trolling for stripers, I feel like the ones I have right now are too stiff.  Something that might be a little soft but nice stiff back to fight the fish.  Can anyone recommend a rod that wont break the bank either?

FYI this would be for trolling stretches, mojo's, maybe an umbrella rig...thinking of doing this one in braid but havent decided that for sure.  My spoons will be on my wire line rods.

I went to Tackle Direct and picked their brains for a bit. I needed rods that were multipurpose including trolling. I went with one of the Tsunami lines but, honestly don't recall. I put Penn squad 40s (I think) on them and they have served me well for trolling and bottom fishing.

Maja trolling rods will be good for all those applications. They are  good Bunker spoon rods too.

I 2nd what eddie said. the rods have great action and plenty of meat.
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
