Another unsettled week with rain and thunderstorm chances and mixed water conditions leaning more towards borderline to cautious conditions. The remainder of Monday will have chances of scattered to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms. Thunderstorms will be capable of heavy rains, dangerous lightning, and some gustier winds. Tuesday will have chances of showers and again more thunderstorms. Tuesday showers will be more widely scattered to organized with some severe thunderstorms possible. Wednesday will be mainly dry, although late showers across southern areas is possible. Thursday will have a return of scattered to widely scattered showers all day. Friday looks mostly dry at this time. Highs will be in the 50’s to upper 70’s, with Monday and Tuesday the warmest with 70’s and then 50’s and 60’s for the rest of the week. Overnight lows will be in the upper 30’s to 50’s. Water conditions will be mixed with cautious conditions on Monday for all locations due to winds to 20+ knots. Tuesday will have cautious conditions for all locations except rivers and central and northern bays. Wednesday will range from good to cautious conditions during the day, then good to borderline for night. Thursday and Friday will have good conditions for rivers and bays, borderline conditions for ocean waters due to seas at 3-5 feet and midshore to offshore waters will be cautious. There marine forecasts are definitely more borderline than cautious, so don't write the week off. Water temperatures have warmed some into the 50’s and upper 50’s for rivers and bays. UV Index will be Low to Very High at 1-8/15.
A cold front will drop slowly southward across the area on Tuesday and Tuesday Night. High pressure will then build down from the northwest for Wednesday. Low pressure should approach from the west on Thursday before moving off the Mid Atlantic Coast on Thursday Night, then move out to sea on Friday. High pressure is expected to follow for Saturday with another low to approach on Sunday.
The weekend looks to be dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Sunday could see some chances of precipitation. Highs will be in the 60’s with overnight lows in the 40’s. Water, surf and beach conditions are looking good right now with calm to moderate winds and seas 1-3 feet.
Have a great week and thanks for reading! Sorry for the delay…
