Pops Soul Hits The Beach
« on: November 27, 2007, 01:34:39 PM »
Drew (Fish4Life) and I took a ride to the beach, Belmar and North area to throw some metals on Sunday 11/25. Surf conditions were calm with it near the bottom of the tide. As we pulled up on to Ocean ave. we noticed a large fleet off of Asbury Park, with no activity in front of us we took the ride north. We threw on our waders and coats armed with Ava27s with green tubes on the long rods. We watched the fleet slowly making their way south with the birds. Their were a lot of guys on the surf with a variety of baits from clams, metals, poppers, and jerk baits. The census from the guys that were on the beach most of the day were that everything was out of reach all day. This flurry of activity was no different, I seen no fish caught on the beach. I was content just to watch the show of Boat WARRIORS doing battle to gain position and you could tell the seasoned veterans hanging back, I was a little mad at myself for forgetting the camera. With my right boot filled with water (Drew warned me about the leak in that set of waders  bngh)and going numb, we headed for the truck and made our way back to Shark river inlet and out onto the jetty to have a shot at a fish. The closer they came the further off they went. All and all it was a nice day for a walk on the beach but reminded me how I miss the warmth of the boat already.  t^

Nice report Skip,

If you can't find the leak right away try using a plastic bag over your foot till you have it repaired.

It seemed that IBSP was the place to be this past weekend.  from area 7 south was working with a 50# drum caught around area 9 last week.

I might try down there this week.

Happy Catching

Paul

The warm days will be upon us before you know it.  Time now to get all the gear sorted, cleaned and ready for next year.

A quick tip for the waders Skip.  MAKE DREW WEAR THEM!  ;D They'll get fixed imediately then.   TT^
