Another unsettled week with mixed weather and water conditions. Monday and Tuesday will be controlled by high pressure, with dry conditions and average temperatures and humidity. Highs on Monday and Tuesday will be in the low to mid 80’s with overnight lows in the 60’s and 70’s and moderate humidity. Wednesday will bring a lifting warm front with chances of scattered showers and thunderstorms for the rest of the week. Highs will lift into the upper 80’s and low 90’s (cooler at the shore by a few degrees) and overnight lows into the 60’s and upper 70’s. Dew points will not be much lower than these overnight lows with the hot and moist air moving into the region. It will be muggy and sticky with high humidity. Water conditions will be very mixed by day, time and location. Overall more borderline than cautious conditions and inshore waters will probably see good conditions over borderline. Winds will be the main concern at 10-15 knots with some gusts to 20 knots, making seas build to 4 feet at points. Friday may have seas to 5 feet in areas. Winds and seas will be for short periods, as opposed to long durations. Any thunderstorms could bring additional winds and seas. Surf and beach conditions look good overall. Rip Current Risks will be Low with surf heights 1-3 feet. A Low Risk does not mean NO risk and conditions could change daily. Water temperatures are steady in the 70’s and pushing 80’s in some places. UV Index will be Very High at 9-10/15.
High pressure will continue to slowly build towards our region, shifting over our region by Monday and off shore sometime Tuesday. A warm front lifts through our region Wednesday, bringing hot and humid conditions for Thursday. Another cold front is expected to slide south and stall over the Mid Atlantic this weekend.
The weekend will be mostly dry with continuation of hot temperatures, but maybe some relief from a cold front. With the cold front showers and thunderstorms are possible. Right now, highs will be in the 80’s and 90’s with 60’s and 70’s overnight. Water, surf and beach conditions look good right now.
The tropics are quiet still!
Have a great week and thanks for reading!
