A mixed weekend with mostly cautious water conditions on the ocean. Heat and humidity return on Saturday and linger on Sunday. Saturday will have chances of rain and thunderstorms. Right now, there is a Marginal Risk for severe weather with the main threat being damaging winds. Sunday will be mostly dry. Highs on Saturday will be in the upper 80’s to low 90’s with slightly cooler temperatures at the shore. Sunday, will be a little cooler with temperatures in the mid to upper 80’s. Overnight lows will be in the 60’s and 70’s with upper 50’s on Sunday Night. Humidity will be high on Saturday and Moderate to High on Sunday. Water conditions will be good for bays and rivers, but ocean waters will have winds gusting to 20 knots or so on Saturday with seas 4-5 feet. Sunday winds will be calm, but seas will push 4 feet still. Surf and beach conditions will be good with a Low to Moderate Risk of Rip Currents. Remember, Saturday will have chances of thunderstorms with heavy rains, dangerous lightning, and damaging winds. Thunderstorms will cause wind and sea forecasts to be increased. Also, surf forecasts should be checked daily and follow local beach patrols and lifeguards. Water temperatures are steady in the 70’s and 80’s. UV Index will be Very High at 8-10/15.

High pressure will continue to nose down from the northeast, influencing our weather today. The high shifts east as a cold front approaches from the west. The cold front will cross the region on Saturday. High pressure will return behind the front and
persist through midweek. Another cold front will cross the region later in the week.

The Atlantic Tropics are overall, uneventful. Invest 97L became Hurricane Earl and affected Belize and Central America. There is the potential for a low to develop in the GOM, close to the Gulf Coast, bringing tropical moisture/rain to that area. This will likely not, affect our area. Other than that, there is nothing else right now.

Next week looks mostly dry through Wednesday, then chances of showers and thunderstorms for Thursday and Friday. Highs will be back in the lower to mid 80’s with overnight lows in the 60’s and 70’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be good except for Wednesday and Thursday, when conditions could be borderline to cautious.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
