Things to do during dry dock:
For many Head boat fishing in Florida has become a way of life, and for good reason:
The sights are often breath-taking:
Fishing, from 1/2 day to extended over night trips, offer the serious fisherman an option to the inherent expenses and hard work associated with boat ownership. We have all the fun; someone else does all the work. The fishing is often outstanding:
The meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, are as welcome as the fishing:
And the great, comfortable, air conditioned sleeping is enjoyed by one & all:
These huge head boats represent the Sunshine State very well. They are indeed 'a way of life' for many. However, they, like anything else, require regular maintenance. As such, the Florida Fisherman ll will be on dry dock, beginning the first week of September, for two months:
First trip back November 4. Myself, along with many others, must find, 'Things to do during dry dock.'
One alternative is wild boar hunting. In Florida we can hunt hogs, on private land, 24/7 twelve months out of the year. My guide, Jeff (L), myself, and Two Guys and a Hog owner, Ralph, are very proud of the nice boar I harvested. Hog hunting, now there something exciting to do.
And 'exciting' to eat:
Another exciting thing to do is watch high school football. My school, Jesuit, is destroying every opponent during this unbeaten season. On 10/8 Sarasota was punished 44 - 0 by the big, bad, unstoppable, blue machine:
Next to be introduced to Tiger land football is Robinson, Spoto, and then the big one, Tampa Catholic.
In our Florida there are always, 'Things to do during dry dock!'
