Well, I have had the boat out since before the first storm weeks ago. I had been having port trim motor problems and was hoping to limp it out for the season but, since the motor hadn't been exercised for weeks it was just ready to give up. With a new pump in hand I pulled the boat at 0800 and began the repair. I only ran into one issue which required me to drill out a bolt but, overall the replacement went in pretty easily.
My buddy Paul met me and we splashed the boat and decided to run South a little. We worked marks and bunkers off of Mantoloking. We had one good strike and it immediately came off, WITH my spoon. UGH! I had a failure of the braid to mono knot. We trolled and dunked bunks until sundown with no other sniffs. It was certainly nice to be out on the water.
I guess north was where the action was yesterday.
