Yesterday, I had Bob G, Dave B and Dave R were on board. We made a run to the Shark River reef looking for blue fish (both Daves crave them
). On the way out we saw South Paw Vinnie drifting just outside SR Inlet. He already had two nice stripers in the boat live lining bunker.
Spent a few hours at the reef and could only muster up one twelve pound bluefish. Had a few others started but they came unbuttoned.
While heading back to the barn we came across bunker stretched out about a quarter mile. Stopped and snagged some and dropped them down. Bob G was first to hook into a bass. Over the gunnel with a nice 36" fish. Next was Dave R who cranked in a 42" bass that pulled the scale down to 30#. Had a couple of run offs that didn't come tight. Called it quits and finished our run back to the barn.
Heading out again this afternoon.
