The weekend will be full of precipitation with cautious water conditions. Saturday will see a rain, snow, mix depending where you live in the state. Northern and Western areas will see more snow, eventually changing over to a mix and then rain. Northern areas could see freezing rain. Southern and Eastern areas will see snow changing over to a mix and rain, much sooner or even no snow at all. Sunday will warm up and most areas will see rain, then changing over to a mix or snow for Sunday Night. Sunday Night will have icing issues as temperatures drop well below freezing statewide. So, basically a big wintry mess this weekend! Saturday will see highs and lows in the 30’s to 50’s with Sunday’s highs in the 50’s, then dropping into the teens and 20’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be cautious to even hazardous with winds to 35 knots and seas to 10 feet inshore and 15 feet offshore. Water temperatures are steady. UV Index will be Low at 0-2/15.
High pressure will continue to move offshore tonight. Low pressure moving from the mid-Mississippi to Saint Lawrence Valley will lead to a warm frontal passage Saturday into Saturday night, followed by a cold frontal passage on Sunday. A sprawling area of high pressure will settle over the mid-Atlantic in the Monday thru Wednesday time frame, prior to another storm system approaching the region on Thursday.
