Another unsettled week with mixed water conditions. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday will all have a mix of sun and clouds with chances of showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms could be strong to severe; very typical of Summer. Wednesday will have more sun and little to no chances of rain. Highs will be in the 70’s and 80’s with lows in the 60’s and 70’s. Water conditions will be good to borderline inshore and good to cautious for midshore to offshore. Surf and beach conditions will be good to borderline with a Low to Moderate risk of Rip Currents. Water temperatures are steady in the 70’s. UV Index will be Moderate to Very High at 3-9/15.
High pressure centered over Lake Erie this afternoon will build to the east and it should influence our weather into Monday. A weak disturbance in the upper atmosphere approaching from the southwest is forecast to pass over our region on Monday evening.
A tropical system is expected to pass well to our southeast and south on Tuesday and Tuesday night. A frontal boundary is anticipated to arrive from the north during the mid week period and it should meander near or over our region into the weekend.
The Atlantic Tropics are active. Tropical Storm Gert has evolved from the invest area I discussed over the weekend. This will stay out to sea and well off the coast. There is another invest area off the coast of Africa that looks to head up the East Coast, again.
Have a great week and thanks for reading!
