Good pliers?
« on: October 20, 2017, 09:28:30 AM »
Hey everyone - noob equipment question.  My friend told me i need some good aluminum pliers with a cutter for saltwater fishing.  He showed me a pair he has from a company called "landers fishing" he said they were good and lifetime guarantee too.  Has anyone else heard of these? They seem like the ones to get because of the guarantee, anyone else have a suggestion?  Thanks!

t^ ... I have a pair of those pliers along with a pair from Browning. Both have replaceable tips and cutting edges and do the same job well. I can't say I prefer one over the other both cost around 30 bucks. Hope that helps you....

Thanks for the tip, I guess for the price i'll go ahead and get some of the landers since they're guaranteed for life.

I have a cheap pair of laser sharp split ring pliers that cuts braid pretty well. Then for unhooking and cutting mono, I have another cheap pair from harbor freight.

That Tommy Boy link was classic.  Thanks for sharing.  I guess I'm a fan of guarantees on tools like craftsman for example - I dont like buying twice.  Anyway I went ahead and ordered some pliers (landersfishing.com) we will see, they seem high enough quality that I wont need the guarantee; which is ideal.

the best pliers or scissors are the ones that Eddie (Hunter 2) doesn't throw overboard
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
