GAMBLER-- Fluke Report and Night Report
« on: July 31, 2018, 12:05:40 PM »
The Gambler's half day fluke catches are up-and-down lately. Some nicer size fluke coming over the rails but it's been inconsistant. Thankfully, the sea bass are cooperating most days. Nothing special needed to put a couple sea bass in your cooler --just fish for fluke and you'll catch them. Starting to see some mackerel on our fluke drifts too.
Our Nite Wreckin trip on Thursday was fair. There was a big left-over swell, so it was hard to keep the lines on the bottom. But the guys who could manage it did alright. Friday and Saturday night's were better, with some big ling, especially on Friday night, along with some small bluefish, big mackerel and a few sea bass.
The Gambler's Shark in the Dark trip this Sunday produced no sharks this time. The weather was great and it was a nice night, but there was a ground swell that we think might have affected our shark fishing. However, we did have a thresher shark hooked up on our afternoon fluke trip yesterday.
Hope to see you aboard soon
Capt Bob
