Fished the Ozarks with DannyNick, Jeff Criswell and Pancho. We left early to get to the grounds for first light. Bay and Ocean where pretty flat and Full Throttle Dan pushed the sticks and hit every small swell on the way out to the deep. We had a game plan and on the way out Danny had a feeling to change it up. We got set up on where he wanted to fish and we started picking away immediately. 3 keepers in the box with in 30 minutes without another boat in sight. The boats started showing up and drifts were getting brutal. Around 8:30 Jeffs rod doubles over, knew it was a good fish right away 5 cranks from the bottom it pops off, drops right back down and boom the monster grabs it again this time he was on good. Jeff worked the fish while I grabbed the net and the fish was soon on the deck. 30.5" long we knew we had a contender. Fish wound up 11 lbs 5 oz on the tackle shop scale was good enough to win the over all and north calcuttas. The Ozarks is a 3 fish tournament so we went back to work. Keepers came easy all fish over 20" just not any to add to the stringer. Fished all day till the whistle and headed in. Total weight was just over 20lbs. Good enough to take 2nd over all (Jerry on the monger) Had 3 monsters and a combined weight of 27lbs. He won 1st. Great day we had on the water catching easily over 30 keepers only keeing our limit of 12.
