NJ Fishing & Boating Weather Outlook Weekly Oct 8-14, 2018
« on: October 07, 2018, 09:12:41 PM »

A mixed week with mixed water conditions. Showers are possible all week, except Tuesday and Friday. Some of these showers will be dependent on a possible Tropical System tracing through the Country and up into the East. The weekend has more uncertainty. The only day which looks like more organized showers will be Thursday. Highs will range from the 50’s to 80’s with lows in the 40’s to 60’s. Temperatures will be cooler by the end of the week. Humidity will be moderate to high through the end of the week. Water conditions will be mixed from good to hazardous with Tropical Storm Conditions possible on Thursday. Surf and beach conditions will good to borderline, with cautious conditions as the Tropical Storm moves through. Water temperatures are

High pressure will remain across the East Coast and western Atlantic through midweek. A weak frontal boundary will move into our area tonight from the north and stall on Monday. The same front will lift north on Tuesday. A cold front will approach the region late next week, possibly interacting with Tropical Storm Michael.

Tropical Storm Michael has developed in the Southern Gulf. It is forecast to make landfall as a weaker hurricane on the Gulf Coast and move northeast through the country before emerging back into the Atlantic somewhere around the DELMARVA. The storm will continue moving NE and pass off the coast of NJ. This will bring rain and winds on Thursday late day and night. Coastal Effects, as well as high seas will be possible. Right now, Michael does not look to be that strong, but heavy rains, thunderstorms, gusty winds, flooding, high and rough surf, beach erosion, and high seas are all possible. I will update any changes.

Have a great week and thanks for reading!
