Congratulations to Curtis McNary for winning the July monthly fluke derby. It was a beautiful 8.4lb fish.
On the first of August Chris Bloom of Philadelphia, PA caught an 11lb 8oz fluke. On that same trip Chris landed 7 other keepers, retaining his limit of 3. He has been using mostly buck tails and Gulp! for tackle and he has been consistently catching his limit of fluke. There have been a good amount of limit catches lately. Sea bass have also been biting, along with an occasional bluefish and ling. It looks like its going to be a good August for half day fluke fishing.
If you have been on the fence about taking a ride, now is the time. Don't let Mr. Weatherman keep you in. Those bolts of lighting that they show on the screen will be there for the rest of the summer. A passing shower won't hurt the fishing, and half the time it doesn't even happen.
Also, our cabin inside is fully air conditioned . Come inside for a cool beverage when it gets hot or grab a burger.
As always, the Gambler is happy to accommodate pro or novice, old or young fishermen. We have great bait, great rental gear and great service provided by our professional crew. We are always happy to instruct our newbies on their way to becoming the next great fisherman/gals.
Our night trips continue to catch fish. Great action on ling and small, tasty bluefish, along with a variety of other species. At night, we are catching everything right on the same fishing grounds.
If you make our morning trip and want to go back out on the same-day afternoon trip, we will only charge you half-fare. (discount offered from afternoon trip to night trip as well!)
Hope to see you aboard (and don't let the weather man ruin your plans).
