Don't worry about taking over any thread I post I love it when it has a mind of itself.  Something interesting always pops up.  I love it.

The long rods have their place but for the most part NJ has shorter distances to the outer bars and I am able to reach most of them.  Like I keep preaching learn to read the beach and if the fish and bait are there you can catch fish within 10' of the shore line.

Paul, Good Luck and Lots of Fish with Your new Set up.
I have the Tica 8Ft matched with a Penn 550.with 15lb test line.It can do the job, so will yours.Enjoy.
