Florida has so much to offer the angler

Florida recreational fishing is BIG business adding 9.2 billion dollars to the economy each year. How good is Florida fishing? Let's take a look. The Sunshine State holds 925 IGFA records. Alaska comes in second with 322, California 314. That's way over Alaska & California combined. In 'Our Paradise on Earth' was saw how good Florida inshore fishing is: On 'Mother Load on Mother's Day Weekend' we witnessed Offshore Deep Sea Fishing:'Getting Ready for American Red Snapper/Gag Grouper' season is one of the BIGGEST events of the year, and for good reason:Think the Florida fishing of years gone-by was good?  It Was!I participated in these catches & took the pictures:I helped put myself through Jesuit High School, and The University of Tampa by selling fish. Back then recreational anglers could sell their catch. We got .25 cents a pound for Grouper, and .10 cents for Kingfish. Back then we had few restrictions. Today, thanks to strict management, Florida fishing is still absolutely fantastic. In addition to 'Deep Sea' fishing the Sunshine State offers the 'Near Shore' angler catches to be remembered until the end of time. Captain Frank Bacheler, Captain of the Friendly Fisherman, is one of the best:Watch as Captain Frank shows us how to easily go from braid to mono:

Captains Rich & Joey, two more of the best: the Sunshine State offers the 'Near Shore' angler catches to be remembered until the end of time.  Think King Fishing was good way-back-when? It was, and still is:Photo credits Captain Dylan Hubbard: Florida has so much to offer the angler credits:Captain Dylan Hubbard IGFAFWC
