Ahhhh, but when you do you will realize what you have been missing all along. Fish braid, go back to trying mono again, and it's like fishing with a rubber band!
Today Capt. John and I met up with Capt. Mike at the boat at 6:30am. The plan was to hit the bricks inside the Bay then head out 14 miles to throw bait at the Lobster pots for Mahi then Anchor on a wreck for Sea Bass then again hit the Pots on our way in.The Bricks produced 3 nice Weakies and ALOT of small Sea Bass. Off to the PotsWater Temps at the pots was around 69 degrees and we hoped for the best. Several pots produced no fish. Mike was using butter chunks, John used live Nutz and I tied on a Yozuri lure. I had just given up when John spotted a HUGE Bull come to the Boat. I grabbed my Rod and we all took a shot at him, he grabbed my lure and ran with the lure like nothing i've ever seen!!! He ran right for the pot and wrapped the line around the rope, a few moments later my 20# test snapped and it was over. 2 weeks in a row I lost a Mahi. Off to the wreckWe anchored up on a large wreck and pulled Sea Bass up all day long! many keepers and many shorts. Also 7 Fluke were brought up and every one of them were foul hooked I can see one or 2 but 7!!! 5 of the Fluke were big enough for the box...Stupid regs. Off to the pots again on the way in but nobody home. Gonna have to wait until next season.Almost forgot, John brought up 2 Huge Atlantic Triggers. Pics to come once John has them loaded.
Only on my Torsa 30 and Stella 10000.
Hareball, I think you deserve a raise...
