I switched several rods to yellow braid from green and find I like it better as I can see it better in the water especially if the line is near the motor or another line.  I put a leader of Berkley Transition Fluorcarbon, which also turns yellow in the sun, about 6ft long on the end with a uni-uni knot so it goes right thru the guides.  I then fashion a rig by snelling a hook to the end and adding goodies as the spirit leads.  Worked great last year, see what happens this year.
